I'd rather a man dressed as a woman use the woman's room. He'd make me uncomfortable in the men's room.
Would women be more comfortable in the ladies's room with a butch lesbian or a simpering transvestite?
And why?
Why would I care? I'm not there to make a date with someone I'm there to go potty, I don't even pay attention to who is in the restroom unless they are causing some kind of ruckus.
It amazes me that people are so concerned about separating bathrooms by gender. You know what I'm more concerned about? Junkies shooting dope in the stalls. Next time you sit on a public loo look at the ceiling and the walls of the stall, don't be surprised if you see little red dots or splatter, you know what that is? Human blood, from a person who may well be HIV positive or have Hep B or C. That is way more scary than a 300 pound man farting, or a trans person. It should be enough to make you realize you shouldn't be touching the door handle with your bare hand.

All of which is an argument for current or reduced privacy, which is barely acceptable in single-gender bathrooms. Choose one.

Hey if you’re ok sitting next to a 350 pound locomotive that’s grunting and huffing trying to pass a Jersey Mike’s large double turkey double bacon on rye with extra mayo sandwich from the previous night I’m good with you using the men’s room.
Hate to break it to you, but women dont just go into the restroom to fix our makeup and gossip. They're doing the same things the men are doing in the restroom. So no ot doesn't really matter to me if the person in the stall next to me is a man, woman, or whatever. I'm in their for my own reasons, not to sit their and watch/listen to what everyone else is doing.

I'm not sure what I am supposed to choose? I stated a fact, junkies shooting up in public bathrooms is a greater risk to you than the gender of the person in the next stall.

It was a generality about the overall debate - we can have something between the slight privacy level of now, or reduce it, to prevent malfeasance in public/private space, or we can redesign public bathrooms for the somewhat greater privacy that would make unisex use more comfortable for a generation or so.
And, in sweeping generalization, I don't really think men's opinions on the matter count for much. Women are by far the more vulnerable in this situation, and any changes have to meet some consensus from them.

I don't want to be in a public bathroom with a dude. Period.
That doesn't mean there are not other things that concern me.

And you're why it's just easier and probably safer to have single-occupant restrooms - no need for confrontations.
