When I was in Calgary two years ago, I noticed that Dollarama was selling a Betty Crocker line of kitchen appliances at CA$2. I have to say that they have been working very well and are a lot better than what you find in the US dollar stores.

I was unsure about how good it could be but I bought a bunch of different things from this line in 2013. They're still perfect, 6 years later. And for a ridiculously low price.
I'm enjoying my purchases from Lucinda Scala Quinn's line of utensils and cookware from Mad Hungry. Check her out @madhungry or on QVC. She is currently my favorite person who cooks for a living.
In general, I like the OXO brand of kitchen tools. Sometimes I have found things at Target, and sometimes they have been on sale. I think they tend to be well designed and moderately priced.
I try to avoid as much plastic as possible when I buy anything for the kitchen, so these aren't very appealing to me. I prefer glass, metal, or wood--more natural materials. They last longer and they're better for your health. I have a 25-year-old set of glass Anchor Hocking mixing bowls that still look as good as when I bought them. Why would I trade them in for a plastic mixing bowl that will melt in the dishwasher?
Exclusive to everyone who will pay for them. In other words, not exclusive.
It seems that Kitchenaid, who used to manufacture high quality appliances, have decided to become wh*r*s and sell their name to the highest bidder to stamp on the usual crummy Chinese made junk.
In other words, the fact that "Kitchenaid" is stamped on it, means NOTHING.

I gotta agree. OXO Good Grips are slowly replacing my cheaper utensils. Bed, Bath and Beyond has a great selection and they go on sale regularly.
