Hi all,
Several weeks ago I came across a very handy "store locator" type of link somewhere on one of the City Data forums. I bookmarked it, used it several times, and then accidentally deleted it.
I want it back!
It was similar to regular store locator, only in reverse, if you know what I mean? Instead of using a store as the starting point and finding which cities they are located in you could start with a city and find out what stores are located there.
Basically it was a site that you could type in the name of a city, tab over to an alphabetical listing and pull up the name of a business, click, and the site would pull up a map with all locations of that business in that city pinpointed. You could keep adding different business names and they would be overlaid on the on the existing pinpoint locations on the map.
For instance I could choose the city of Memphis, go over to the M's and find Mc Donalds, select it and presto, see the map covered in pinpoints. Now I go over to S, find Starbucks, click, and even more pinpoints. I could change, subtract, or add to the list very easily, until the map was solid black if I wished.
I am hoping to move to a small town somewhere, and was using this site to help me eliminate towns that were too small and/or didn't have nearby a few places that I would consider "must haves."
If anybody has a clue as to what I'm talking about I would be forever grateful to get that link back. I have searched one C-D forum after another and cannot find the original link anywhere.
