share your steam mop reviews please!
Please tell me about your steam mop if you have one! Our home as a ton of tile in the dining / kitchen / entry / and the baths -
I like the idea of chemical free cleaning and really killing the germs as we have a little crawler in the house and he is everywhere!
What type do you have - what do you like or dislike about it?
I was looking at a shark (the purple one) and wondered if anyone has this one (or others for that matter).
Thanks for your reviews

No one???? I'm interested, too!
I've heard that the Shark is NOT the best---it breaks easily. Is that true?

Apparently! I saw one in some catalog the other day--$199.00---I'm not spending that kind of money until I get more info! Right now, my polished porcelain floor will continue to be washed by hand--on my hands and knees!!! (ouch!) A regular mop gets it too wet, and it "spots" as it dries. At least by doing it on my knees, I get a good "ab" workout!

I have the Shark. It heats up very quickly, and works well on tile. What it doesn't clean is grout. It seems the mop head has to touch the surface to make a difference. I did use it to clean the shower walls successfully. The Shark is very lightweight, so it was easy enough to move up and down the walls. I haven't used it lately, I actually forgot I had it! I didn't like the way it cleaned my wood floors, as it left a hazy film. I think you have to have well sealed wood for that, and my floors need refinishing because of the dogs. For the $80.00 or so I paid, I thought it was ok.

Shark Steam Mop
I bought one and used it on my laminate floor and on vinyl. It left both floors dingy, like a film was on them. Don't know if that was from not using distilled water or not. Also, not good in mopping up spills and then cleaning. Seems like it pushes the dirt around. Floors are very dirty but the pads don't get that bad.

I have the Bissell Steam Mop and use it on my tile floors, not my hardwood. It's lightweight, takes seconds to heat up, no distilled water needed, and does a good job. I also have a large canister steam machine but this one works fine for everyday clean-up.
Purchased this one at Linens-n-things with the 20% coupon I think it came to $68.00. You might want to check them out as they are going out of business.
