Default How's Magic Jack? The landline phone provider.

I'm curious about Magic Jack. Does anyone here have experience with it?

I have a few questions about it,

-How's the sound quality?
-Is it really only $19.99 a year?
-Does it raise your electricity bill alot?
-How does long distance work on it?
-Do they have customer service, if so how is it?

I checked the website but I thought it was vague and a little cheesy. I'm still interested in the product though. Any input is appreciated.

Quality is okay
Yes $19.99 a year on succeeding years, first year is $40, because you have to pay for the device.
Yes your electricity will go up if you leave your computer on all the time because you need it for MJ to work.
Long distance? You dial the number and thats it.
Customer service, I never tried it but they got live chat magicJack - Tech Chat Knowledgebase/FAQ

I got 2 voip providers. One is MJ and the other one is Onesuite. $40 for MJ for a year then $20 for succeeding years and $2.95 monthly for Onesuite with unlimited incoming calls that includes a phone number.

When MagicJack came out, there was (and still is) a lot of speculation in the VoIP world about their business model. Many people (myself included) think that they can't offer the $20/year deal and make any money. I expect one of three things to happen: they'll raise their prices significantly, they'll fold, or they'll get bought up. Personally, I think that the latter has been their plan from day one.
