A note from the mods (best, service, idea, comment)

Hello Everyone ,

We're fortunate to have one of the most interesting forums on City-Data and it usually runs itself quite smoothly without much intervention from me or the Administrators. However, we've been running into a few small issues lately and I want to take a moment to be sure we're all on the same page.

If you haven't done so already, please be sure to read the City-Data Terms of Service . Many of your questions about appropriate posting will be answered there.

Some of the issues we've been encountering lately are:

Personal Attacks: Be sure you are debating the idea and not attacking the person please .

Staying on Topic: A little off-topic here and there is fine, but let's not abandon the Original Post entirely

Advertising: We have specific rules for advertising that you can find in the TOS. Also, please do not place advertisements for products or services as this is not allowed on this site.

Racially insensitive remarks: It is sad that this has to even be mentioned, but please refrain from making remarks that are hurtful , unkind or racially insensitive.

If you have read an especially helpful or interesting post, why not give that person a REP. Right up at the top of each post is a place where you can do this ; you can even write the person a comment if you'd like.
