When I hear the name "Billy Mays", several adjectives come to mind and none of them are very nice. He's loud, annoying, and I always change the channel if I see or hear him.
The last person in the world that I would invite home for dinner. But if I were a marketer of products, his voice would sound as sweet as the ka-ching of a cash register.
When I think of Billy Mays there is only one thing that comes to mind:
YELLING!!! LOTS OF YELLING!!!
Don't those tv people know we have mute buttons and change channels?
I just Wikipedia'ed him. Thought he was some sort of retired ball-player, but, no, he's always been just a loudmouth salesman. Given how rich he has become, obviously there are still a lot of dumb people out there that will buy whatever he sells.
Strikes me as a total BS artist. I can tell the car paint scratch remover junk commercials feature very superficial scratches in the clear-coat only, the real artist is the guy scratching the cars. How to make a really ugly looking but very shallow scratch...
