How did it break? My x went on a rant when our Whirlpool dishwasher started making a lot of noise after 5 years. Turns out it was off balance, once I adjusted it things were fine again. She actually was out shopping for some $$$$ unit when I called her to say that it was ok.

The motor runs, but that's the only thing that does, no water, no heat, etc.
I always buy the 4 yr. extended warranties on all of my appliances. Ten yrs. ago my h bought me a top of the line Whirlpool reg./conv. gas stove. Every time I would put the self-clean oven on, the door opened up with the stove over 900 degrees. Whirlpool's policy is repair not replace, after a year having the appliance guy there almost every week, they replaced it with the same model, well the same thing happened, the stove was defective, after receiving a letter from our lawyer they gave us our money back. I went to Lowe's and bought a $700 stove.
This has been my experience, my Kenmore fridge. (11 yrs. old) died the day after Thanksgiving last month (condenser). We bought a ss Whirlpool, freezer on the bottom, top of the line Whirlpool, over the stove microwave, 5 burner, double, reg. & convection free-standing gas range, and 2 drawer, dish-drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher. Every one with the 4 year extended warranty.
Oh yes, our 6 yr. old Sears 40" tv blew last month too, the guy wanted 250 to walk through the door, we put it out by the curb.
