Default Made in PRC?

We recently noticed the line "Made in PRC" on a product. The only place we could think that this referred to was the People's Republic of China. If this is what PRC definitely means then I would say it's a temporarily clever way to disguise that a product is made in China... at least until Americans start to catch on. Has anyone else seen this?

I have not seen this yet but I'm sure that's where it's made. China - all the same.

I have seen this before. Caught it real fast. I remember a while back, the furniture store Ikea actually had it all spelled out on the box. I always found that strange because thats the only place I ever saw it. I recently saw the "PRC" on a food product. I can't remember what.

And after Americans start to catch on, then what? Drop the PRC item back in the bin and find one made in the USA? Good luck with that...

Well with some items it's difficult to find made in USA yes, but not impossible. Really depends on the item.

Default Made is PRC

I just spotted it this morning while admiring a purchase I made yesterday with a tag saying Murano Glass. The tag had a discription of how this perfume bottle was Murano Glass made from the artisians in Italy. I turned it over to pull off the price tag and under was another tag with code numbers and the words made in PRC. This promted me to go on google and check it out. I now know what it means thanks to the other posts.
