My boyfriend spends about $7.50 for a pack of USA Golds here in NY. I think a carton of them was going for around $30 before the recent tax hike? Certain stores though, like Stewart's, has some sort of 'buy one, get one 1/2 off' discount every now and then I think.
Well over $5 a pack here in Michigan. The pharmaceutical and insurance industries are behind the increases as well. The pharm co's want to get it to where the only legal form of nicotine would be in thier pills, and as with any form of insurance they just want to take your money and minimize thier risk. I say go pick on another group for awhile, us smokers pay enough taxes already.
What brand is that please? Man you are going to be paying about 100 bucks per carton by the time the feds tack on their new tax in April.
Kind of on the same lines heard tonight on the news that now CA wants to legalize marijuana so they can tax it since they are losing $ on legal tobacco.
We can't control actions by some of 2 addictive chemicals that are legal now in America (nicotine and alcohol) so let's just open the flood gates shall we? Idiots.
I got a carton of Newport for $35 today and thats with the price hike. It was only $28 for a carton before that...Not bad at all considering what other states are charging.
