I recently purchased a camcorder on ebay. I recieved an e-mail from the seller recommending that I get it covered through square trade. But after looking up squared trade I ran across some people like this person

eBay Guides - WHY NOT TO GET Square Trade SquareTrade ebay Insurance

who had some complaints about square trade. Anyway does anyone know of any alternatives I could use besides square trade?

Another thnig that people need to be aware of when buying on Ebay'especailly electronics is many are seling stuuf they buy form Hong Kong etc, If there is a amercian distrbutor than in most instabces they will not honor the foreign warranty its thru the distrbutor in that country.I know people that sent in the items only to have it returned saying the warranty was in the country of distribution origin.Never heard of square trade tho.

If what you receive it not correct, or broken you can always file a SNAD with eBay. (significantly not as described) You don't have to buy any insurance, that's just a scam. Then file a claim with PayPal. It takes a few weeks but you will get your money back. I've had to do it only 2 times in 9 years, but I got my money back both times.
