I am starting on the flower planning stages of my wedding and am undecided between fake flowers and real? Is is okay to have fake flowers, does anyone even notice or care? I know it is cheaper and we are just having a small wedding and then a reception.

I would do real flowers because IMO fake flowers are tacky. You can do real flowers inexpensively - it just depends on the arrangements and the flowers involved.

Real flowers! This is your big day! Find out from a florist which are considered the inexpensive flowers now. When I got married awhile back, I think carnations were the cheapest then. Or maybe it depends on the area where you live. I would say...you deserve real flowers for you and your wedding party, however small or big it is.

I'm thinking of floral arrangements for the tables at the reception now ...

When I think of fake flowers, I generally think of a greasy spoon diner with a fake flower in a little vase with the salt, pepper, and sugar containers. You don't want to go that route for your wedding.

The flowers I like are gardenias, peonies, and hydrangeas. I personally like real but the cost thing was what had me worried.

Good fake can be more expensive than real...

start the marriage 'real'.

Get several price quotes from different florists, or if you have a flower mart in your area, that may be a nice option as well.

Real flowers. Your favorite flowers are very expensive, but I would save them for your bouquet. Ask your florist for suggestions that could help you cut the cost for centerpieces. You could also look at your local farmer's market, or maybe you have a friend who is talented in making centerpieces that could save you some money. You will not be the first bride to work with a limited budget.
