Hippy granola land

Just wondering where this is, gypsy soul. I will be moving to California soon (not too far from San Francisco ).

They should have offered you utensils!

If it was an eat in restaurant as well (being a buffet), you could have asked if you could borrow some of their silverware.

It's not like you were asking her to give you her grandmother's silverware to take home! You did the right thing by reporting to the manager.....we are, after all, in the era of the 'teachable moment', ya know.

Why on earth would a minimum wage cashier try to hold out on the utensils?

She was probably under orders to do so from the very manager you complained to.

No. Your reaction is/was correct. Although, to punctuate your displeasure I wouldn't go there anymore. Too many times some businesses will field complaints only to have the same dissatisfied customer return next week or whatever and instead of fixing the problem, they figure, "Meh, she'll be back..."

But.....I am so pissed, I walked back in the place, found the manager and complained about how she wouldn't willingly give me utensils. I shouldn't have to explain why I need utensils. Yada, yada, yada.
You complained, the manager was called and you made your point, got your plastics. Going back in was rather overkill, don't you think? It's not something I'd get eaten up about.

I went back in because I had only complained to the cashier who wouldn't give me the utensils. I agree that I won't go back - their food isn't actually that good - I can go to Golden Corral instead. Way higher quality food, stronger utensils - just 40 cents a lb more, but not as convenient. But if I get rice or mashed potatoes, at least I won't have to lap it up, lol.

I can't change the fact I went back in.

KSB, just give it amonth or two before you go back in.

One thing you can be confident in, it is a buffet. You will not get someone spitting in your food (w/o you knowing it, that is).
