I haven't darkened the door of a Walmart or Sam's Club since they kept me waiting (unpaid) for 11 hours at one of their distribution centers while they unloaded my truck.

And the Tide you buy at WalMart is the same Tide you'd buy at a "classier" store.
Exactly why I shop at Wal-Mart....for everything except meat, their meat is pretty lousy. I also tend to avoid their clothes, I can get clothing that is name brand for about the same price as Wal-Mart clothes. Wal-Mart is where we go for basic groceries and household stuff.

I'm in the unique position in that it actually takes me less time to walk through the back gate to Walmart than to drive around to the front door. I was accustomed to lousy service until recently. The manager of the store decided to cut hours in order to make budget so she could get her bonus. Now they have NO service. Fortunately there is an H.E.B. store also within walking distance and service there is always stellar and prices are as reasonable and the produce is SO very much better. Walmart could disappear and I don't think I would notice. This is for store #1347

I agree that the meat, clothes and produce are all absolutely lousy at walmart. It looks like they go dumpster diving behind the other stores to stock their shelves.

If I go to Walmart, it is because it is a general store, and I assume that they will have just about everything, so I don't have to try to guess what store might have what I'm looking for and go to several stores. And also, I can get most of the things on my shopping list there. I also expect their price to be relatively low, or to have low-priced alternatives.

But today I bought AA batteries and a kitchen timer at my supermarket. I'm sure I could have saved a buck or two by going 5 miles to WalMart, but it wouldn't have been worth the trip.

I could not have bought all of the bikes and skooters for all of the little fellows without Walmart.
Everything is still working, handed down, and on to the next size and style.......
So, I can't bash the store. Its only been quite helpful to me in the long run.

Too bad for Wal-Mart that my room mate went to bed before I returned home from a quick shopping trip. I go to Wal-Mart because it's a ten minute walk from my house, and I don't have to cross any major streets. Plus it's open when I'm awake--if I decide to walk over to Publix at 2 in the morning, I'd have a heckuva time getting anything accomplished there.

Anyhow, I bought ten distinct items (though I did buy multiple of some of those, still under 20 items altogether), and had four coupons. The cashier questioned me on three of the four...even ARGUED with me over one of the items. In the end, she took off all four coupons, but she needn't have argued with me or questioned me with so few items.

Also, I kept a WIDE space between the end of the previous order, and the start of mine, and she asked to confirm which items were actually mine. I'm thinking, "Did you not see all the space between our orders. Yes, all these are my items."
