I'm *wildly confused* and want someone "in the know" concerning Paypal to kindly help me.

A couple of years back I found an online item (not on Ebay) I wanted to purchase. Merchant only accepted Paypal for payment so I *thought I was opening a new PP account* online to purchase the item. I entered my major CC info and next thing I knew, it indicated the transaction was complete. No info regarding my new PP account. Next day I phoned the merchant to explain what happened (sure the order wasn't processed) and was told that PP handled the CC transaction. I received the item in a few days and the charge was on my next CC statement.

So... is it always possible for BUYERS to use their major CC and have the SELLER process the order through Paypal? In other words, must I have a PP account to make purchases on Ebay if using my credit card?

That is my only method of payment, sell on ebay, buy on ebay, only will use paypal. Never have i had a problem. OH BUT CANNOT SAY THAT FOR EVERYONE. I do not want to mention the name of the webiste, but there is one you can go to and see that yes people have had their share of problems. You can probably do a search. No matter what the website, you need to be careful where you buy from or sell.
