Generally gas is less expensive, but if you look at induction cooktops, they claim be very efficient for an electric powered cooktop.

Definitely a GAS stove if you're a serious cook.

I have had both. I am a pretty good cook, i cook and prepare a lot of meals. Have had the newer of both. I just happen to like for myself and the way the food is prepared, A GAS STOVE. For us the Gas is even Cheaper then Electric, just do not like Electric, and i have had some of the newer smooth tops, don't care for them. I have a Gas with the Grill in the middle and 4 burners, i just love it.
