My Christmas expense was $2.88.
I bought two boxes of chocolate covered cherries for $1.44 a box.
It was a rip off.
There was only ten pieces in each box.
They weren't very good.
And my wife ate half of them.

We went out to eat with my mother. All together the total came to $36. We use Xmas for an excuse to eat. Otherwise, it's just like any other day. LOL

About $130 in gifts for my mother, two brothers, sister, and two nieces. It would have been about half that if I didn't get a bonus this year.

Spent another $30 for food; ham, rolls, and pie.

We bought gifts for 4 grown children and their spouses,6 grand children, and didn't spend over $15 on anyone,

The difference between myself and the OP, is I don't have to brag about the high amount I spent.

Another difference is I don't need--"January"-- to pay for the gifts that the recipients appreciated.

If one of my kids spent a lot of money on me at Christmas, I would be disappointed as I realized I never taught them the true meaning of Christmas .

What is wrong with paying off everything in January?

I charged all that could in December, and paid everything in full yesterday - in JANUARY - before the CC bill even comes in.

How is that something bad?
