Matanuska Maid is the AK state supported dairy. That's all, folks. Otherwise we get Lucerne milk sent in by plane.

I don't really pay too much attention to what regular milk costs, but the cheapest organic milk I buy is from Meijer's Organics line for 3.29 a half gallon. Most other places though, it is around 3.79-3.99 in Indianapolis.

Last year was sick of milk prices($3.79/gal.) bought cow and bales were $4.50/bale. This year bales rose to $5.70/bale. Shot cow and butcher charged me $2.85/lb. Woulda' been cheaper to have paid for milk!

YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!
I went to the yokel Super Walmart to stock up on supplies for my grandfather thinking it would be the most efficient and cost effective way to shop. Store brand milk was $3.89/gal (20 cents more than our nearby grocery) but the local dairy's (Coburg) was over $6!!!!! (usually it's the least expensive) What a racket. Can you imagine how many gallons of milk will be thrown away?
