I know that.

They still don't live in the same building. And my example was just one. They carry plenty of brands that are not theirs.

You seem to want me to be an expert on Sears related things, but sorry, Sears isn't my specialty. My answer to the OP was based on many other companies that I have worked with, that have had the same problems.

To Dashdog,
First allow me to apologize for the delay in finding this post. My name is Brian and I’m part of the Sears Cares Escalations team. I am sorry to hear that you’ve had issues with the delivery of the refrigerator. I can certainly understand your frustration with this issue. Unfortunately, we do rely on the manufacturer of the product to give us accurate information on stock levels since we order direct from them. If other retailers also sell the same model (Kenmore is a brand, but the manufacturer may be Whirlpool, etc.) and as such we don’t always have the most up to date information even in this computer age. What we would like to do is step in and help with this situation. We can, at the very least make sure we’re doing all that is possible to get the most updated information, ensure delivery happens as planned, or help with a re-selection to another model that you may like equally as well. At your convenience, please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com and we’d be happy to assist you. In the email, please provide a contact phone number and the phone number the refrigerator was purchased under (if different than the contact phone number) and we will call you directly. Also, in your email, please provide the screen name (Dashdog) used to post here for reference to your issue, and we do look forward to talking to you soon
Thank you,
Brian J.

I've had bad experience with Sears, stay away at all costs, I would go into detail, but I've put that behind me, after the sale is done, it's out of the stores hands, and into inept customer service.

Thumbs down Sears service

Regardless of price, I would never buy another appliance from Sears. We had several service calls on our refrigerator and it was nothing but a hassle. It was such a joy being told we have to wait a week for a service technician to come over and repair our four month old fridge. This was the same story we got everytime the unit broke.

Never again!

A relative managed a Sears store years ago and I never bought tires or appliances anywhere else for decades. As service declined, I started looking elsewhere, but continued to get the major items at Sears. Four years ago was the straw when I had a problem returning an item to the store that I purchased online. The website said returns could be made at the store. It wasn't just that I was told it couldn't be done, it was the attitude of the sales clerk. I finally prevailed when the manager was brought in, but no apology, nothing. That was the last time I stepped foot in Sears. I had purchased mattresses for my kids right before that happened and one fell apart in a couple of months. I wouldn't even go back to have it addressed. Since then I have purchased four major appliances, an HDTV, two mattress sets and a set of tires. But not at Sears.
