[quote=cigara;1865935]Buy discount cigarettes at the lowest prices at the discount cheap cigarettes store.

Have you actually used this site recently? I used to buy my cigs from one of those up to about two years ago and it was great. I got my favorites and for less than $20/carton. Then customs started stopping them... it figures... why get something cheaper when you can buy it more expensive... I lost over $100 with my last purchase and gave up...

I am trying to help someone find a place to buy cigarettes relatively inexpensive. I was asked (repeatdly) to look into this for them so I told them I would check the internet with my favorite website; City Data.
This thread is not to start any smoking debates, so please reply only if you have a thrifty way to purchase cigarettes.
Long story short, these are for a few Senior Citizens on a fixed income. There is no chance in hell that they will quit smoking. I can't force them and I don't want to make them miserable in their last years of life. Over the age of 70 and stubborn as a mules, after many arguments, I say give them what they want & let them be happy. Also, I am not looking to make any profit. I don't need to.
So, I heard a rumor that there is an Indian Reservation that sells cartons cheap. Is this legal? Is it a rumor? I don't want to break the law.
Just thought I'd ask, asking can't hurt.
If you are a smoker (NJ) , where do you get your carton of cigarettes?
Feel free to PM me if you have info.
thanks

After I had to unfortunately give up buying duty-free cigs online (see other post), I started buying mine at Moderator cut: no direct link/ advertisement. Please see CD rules and guidelines! . The price is going up with almost every purchase, though. They used to take credit cards... not anymore... next BS... Now I'm paying with e-checks. It's a bit of a hassle to set it up, but then it works like a charm. The shipping is fast and haven't had any problem other than the prices constantly going up, but they're still competitive. Every other site sells my cigarettes for at least $3/carton more. Just called them today about a disappearing discount when using e-check. Was told that's the way the cookie crumbles... And the prices supposedly go up just like gas. Well, at least gas goes down occasionally. Anyway, we smokers are the scapegoats paying for everybody and everything, while being deprived of a social life.

Well, I try to do that as much as possible, but you have to enlist an army of people going with ya! Only one carton per person is allowed.

The cheapest place is to quit and you will never need to buy another one again. After you quit, it costs you $0.00...

Unfortunately the reason for no credit cards is that aggressive states such as NY & NJ were able to track and bill customers for the taxes in these states..believe me my husband got his tax bill for cigarettes from the State of NJ...you have to pay if caught, even though I think it's BS because they have the upper hand..as far a suing, leins.....you can't win

The next time you're on I-95, stop in South Carolina. They have the lowest cigarette tax in the nation, by a pretty wide margin.
State Tax Rates on Cigarettes (http://www.taxadmin.org/FTA/rate/cigarett.html - broken link)
Tax rates
New Jersey - $2.57/pack
New York - $1.50/pack
Pennsylvania - $1.35/pack
Maryland - $1.00/pack
Georgia - $0.37/pack
North Carolina - $0.35/pack
Virginia - $0.30/pack
South Carolina - $0.07/pack
