Default I-20 Roadwork West of Haughton into East BC

Does anyone know what kind of work the road contractors are getting ready to do monday? There are 2 signs saying construction starts April 27th and some cones are being readied along side the road. But I haven't seen nor heard anything from the media.

That stretch of road seems to always be under construction. At least that was the case when I last lived there, about 5 years ago

^^^That's a fact. I'm anxious to know the lowdown on the project since I bail out of SBC daily on it. Route Sales east La into SE Ark. Old 80 sure is a pain to have to take.

I love driving on Old 80. Funny story:

I was driving back from Minden, on I-20, with a friend at around midnight. We both wanted to keep driving, being high schoolers and not wanting to go home. So I saw the sign for Goodwill Road, and remembered seeing that road on Old 80, so I knew I could exit there and take Goodwill to 80. Well, I incorrectly assumed that 80 was always north of 20, not knowing that the two actually weave back and forth a bit. Well anyway, I should have turned south on Goodwill to get back to 80, when I actually turned north. Long story short, after about 2 hours of driving lost down some of the scariest roads I have ever been on, we ended up in Arkansas at 4:00 in the morning. Lost and terrified we found a Waffle House and hung out until daytime and got directions home.

From that moment on, I vowed to never get lost again. So now it's actually a big hobby of mine to study road maps. I spend hours sometimes just learning my way around the U.S. from my computer.

I venture that I will come across the road construction when going from southern Mississippi (seeing my college buddy) to Colorado (to see relatives) along I-20. I may have time it to where I would miss it during evening traffic or take a different route altogether.
