The SF school district will start classes on August 16th.

As for the best, where will you be living in SF?

What are the better school systems in general? Is there a particular area we should avoid? We will choose an area that will best provide for our son. I would rather stay away from from the flood problem areas that I have been watching on Keloland.com. We want a school that my son can go to from K thru 12. I don't want him bouncing from school to school. And of course with all answers I would like to know why. All opinions are welcome. Thanks again for your time and info. We hope to be in SF by the 1st week of Sept.

public school, k-12, in one single location, in Sioux Falls? I'm not sure there is one?

I live about 100 miles, from Sioux Falls, but I have several friends, who teach, in the SF School System.

Hey debey. Can you ask your friends which school and grade they teach? And see if they can answer my questions please. I'm just looking for a starting point. My wife will be out there the 10th thru the 12th for a job interview and she would like to check out some of the schools while she's there. We just need to have a good place to start. Thanks

Sioux Falls has: (public) :24 elementary schools, serving grades K-5.
5 middle schools, serving grades 6-8.
3 high schools - Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Washington.

There is also the Catholic school system and Christian schools system

I know I'm a bit late... In the SF public school system, he'll go through elementary, middle, and high school... It'll be in different locations.

Even with the Catholic schools... Christ the King, Holy Spirit, and all of the "Saint" schools (St. Lambert, St. Katherine Drexel, etc.), and the O'Gorman Junior High and Senior High, your son would be moving to different schools.

There is Sioux Falls Christian Schools... They built a new school complex at 69th Street & Cliff Avenue. I think one could go there from K-12. I could be wrong though!

Sioux Falls Public Schools are great... The schools on the outer fringes of the city might suit your needs better. Look at Discovery, Rosa Parks, Pettigrew elementary school. For middle schools, I'd recommend Memorial. The 3 high schools... Lincoln, Washington, and Roosevelt are all great high schools.
