Ok, so hubby got the call today and accepted a position. We will be moving to South Dakota in the next couple months. NOW... where are we going? We wanted to moved to Rapid City because of the mountain areas... but its too far from the region he will have. We are looking in the Sioux Falls area. Since most of my research has been on Rapid City area I now have to start all over....

Need to find the best high schools in the area..

Our son, 15 years old Sophomore is so mad at us. He doesn't want to move at all from OKC. He keeps saying there wont be any thing to do, no fishing in that area. No outdoors stuff... HELP

I work in the Dental industry so I need a job too.

Where is the best family area to live. Looking for a clean, safe friendly area. Will be renting a 3 or 4 bedroom house so needing help finding a property management company too.. .HELP

All the schools are good. There are several smaller towns around Sioux Falls that are minutes away. Brandon, Tea, Harrisburg, Hartford all come to mind as far as smaller towns. SF has no real bad areas.

It is a 5 hour drive from SF to Rapid all Interstate (350 miles between the two towns) so 3 day weekends are an easy get away.

There is plenty of healthcare interests so a job will be easy to come by.

Congratulations.

There are lots of lakes not far from Sioux Falls and some state parks around some many of them as well. You will be just minutes from Minnesota (land of 10,000 lakes) although it won't be as diverse and immediately accessible as much of the hills are, once your son adjusts he will find a good amount of outdoor activity available.

Congrats on your husband getting the job.

No fishing or outdoor stuff? Poppycock! Your son will have no excuses not to find plenty of outdoors activities. SD GFP | SD Game Fish & Parks

There's a very good reason why Sioux Falls is one of the nation's fastest growing cities.
