As close as I have come to Pad Thai is Hu Hot right off of 41st.
I like it better than the Mongolian Grill. But I haven't been back to the Mongolian since my first chemo treatment. Note: never take chemo than celebrate your birthday there. That was one of these worst days I have ever had.

I've never tried Mongolian Grill, and I have never tried Thai food, but Hu Hot is great. That is the one guaranteed stop every time we visit. The other meals are just kind of wherever. I'd like to try the Brazilian place, but if I remember right it is more expensive on weekends.

Are there any good European style restaurants in Sioux Falls or Rapid City? Like German, Polish, Slovakian, etc. There aren't any in southern Arizona and we miss the the food we experienced in the Milwaukee-Chicago area. So when we come to South Dakota we hope to find something to satisfy our taste buds!

I have never cared much for Pizza Ranch's pizza, but I LOVE their chicken, mashed potatoes, ranch fries, potato chips, and the cactus bread! The pizza ranch is one of my favorite buffets, second only to the brunch buffet at the Pierre Ramkota.

I like the Ramkota's (in Pierre) menu. The food is always superb. Menu or buffet.

Check out downtown Sioux Falls for these type of places. I know they exist there--I just can't think of the names of these restaurants off hand.
Here's my suggestions:
ice cream--Milky Way--always yummy in the summer
donuts--Hy Vee
cakes/pastries--there's a lady in Garretson who makes the BEST angel food cakes with frosting
fried chicken--The Keg
Thai--gotta agree with everyone else on this one--HU HOT!!
pizza--Tomacellis
breakfast--Marlins

Thank you!
I'm sure I'll think of more later on...

Best donuts - Daylight Donuts (Haven't tried them here, but the one in Aberdeen always had fantastic doughnuts)
Best cakes/pastries - Check out Queen City Bakery - 8th & Weber Queen City Bakery - Home
Best Fried Chicken - The Keg has good chicken (57th & Marion and 26th & Sycamore). Other than The Keg and KFC, I can't think of any other fried chicken places in SF
Best Pad Thai - No opinion, but HuHot is yummy. There's one on 41st in the Western Mall, and one on Arrowhead Parkway near the eastside Wal-Mart.
Best Pizza - I love Tomacelli's! There's one on the west side and one on the east side.
Other pizza options besides the usual chains -
Taste of the Big Apple (4th & Main) ... New York style pizza, and the owners are from NYC
Pizza Man (on Marion Road)
Boss's Pizza & Chicken... (Empire Mall, 26th & Marion, and Minnesota Ave north of 33rd)... They're open really late every night.
