Your opinion on the symbolic & promising tie of the "rookie " USA soccer team to the "soccer superpower " England.

USA actually almost won the game, the English were saved by the goalposts...

Don't know if that was world class football by any stretch, but it was a great result for them. England was the heavy favorite, so a point in match one is great. Cherundolo and DeMerit had good games and Tim Howard was solid. Need to keep their foot on the offensive gas if you ask me. They could have won today. Good effort boys!

"USA" were also very lucky that the worst of the worst of goalkeeping errors gifted them a goal. Aside from the England team not playing to their full potential, USA were outplayed for most of the game.

You dumb Yanks don't know what you're doing and you shouldn't even be participating. You were lucky to tie us. We hate you and your improper use of the word football.

Love, The Queen

p.s. Oh yeah, we left some guns behind after the last war and we would like them back.

You know it's all political correctness. 1-1 is a score both teams can agree with. Just like the 2002 game against Korea. England will get hammered by the press if they win, and will also get hammered by the press if they lose. So a draw works out best.

The USA were well organized and disciplined. Our best players were Howard and Donovan. I also thought that DeMerit was very good. However, I though the USA midfield was poor, lacking drive and dig and the defense was a liability.

England flattered to deceive. This is not a world class side by any stretch of the imagination. I thought their defense was pedestrian and they will get shown up by a team with real pace and the ability to attack on the break. The midfield pairing of Gerrard and Lampard did not work. England failed to get their wide players into the game and, even when they did, their crossing was shocking. That Rooney had to come so deep in the 2nd half to get the ball tells its own story.

Going forward I would like to see Edu in midfield for the USA. He has more drive and pace than the others and would offer a threat going forward. I would also like to see more width in the US side than we offered today.

ps. Great to see the Greeks get a doing by S. Korea. As usual, the donkey Samaras is incapable of finding the goal let alone scoring one.

Since when is England a "superpower"? This match was like Slovakia vs Kazakhstan in hockey.

Howard had to stand on his head to get a point out of that one. On the other side, Green was almost worthless. He better just stay in South Africa after the World Cup; they will kill him back home.

LOL at your attempt to make England sound like a super power. And you had to have a goalkeeper make a mistake to score...

ps. I'm no USA hater by any stretch but sometimes its just funny on what views people have. Its just that US arn't a New Zealand or a second string team, they are ranked 14 in the world, they're a solid football team.
