Users get creative with Wikipedia page of USA-Slovenia referee - Game On!: Covering the Latest Sports News

heh-heh it didn't take long for people to make a Wikipedia page to thrash the guy. See the link the article.

"Coulibaly is rumoured to hate the United States of America with the burning passion of a white hot sun."

But truth be told, USA came back from 0-2 deficit to tie the game and this guy negated the third goal which would have given US the victory.

Quote:
Coulibaly, from Mali, is under fire for his controversial call on what appeared to be a potential game-winning goal by USA substitute Maurice Edu in the 86th minute. Coulibaly whistled a foul on the play, to the dismay of Team USA and coach Bob Bradley.

"I still don't know why the goal was disallowed. Nobody knows at this moment," said Bradley after the match.

Landon Donovan added: "I'm a little gutted to be honest. I don't know how they stole that last goal from us. ... I'm not sure what the call was. He (the referee) wouldn't tell us what the call was

Is the soccer forum the place to discuss anti-Americanism? Would you mind moving this back to "Politics" please.

No doubt he will admit he blew the call, meet with the US team, apologize for his gaff and be warmly greeted by the crowd before the next game.

You would think a referee from Mali would be rigging the game so the team that's 1/3 Black would win over the White Boys

No, he didn't. He refused to make any comment (http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/donovan-u-s-victory-stolen-by-referee--fbintl_ro-angryusa061810.html - broken link).

For what it's worth, England drew with Algeria. Which means England has to beat Slovenia to advance. There is hope for Team USA, provided they beat Algeria.

I heard he's been getting death threats already. It's good to see the US fans become as rabid as their Euro counterparts in this game.

If US beats Algeria then we advance no matter what happens in the England v Slovenia game.

From twitter

Landon Donovan & Jozy Altidore just invited Koman Coulibaly to go fishing with them. The catch: there's only 2 life jackets onboard

Does someone have a link to the rules. I am a bit cloudy about who advances and who don't.
