This is the thing, if Italy would just focus on playing well as a team, rather than using dramatic 'technique', then they would gain much more respect, even though they may not have the same skills as other teams this year.

For example, look at Argentina. I used to dislike the team immensely due to the flopping but with Messi's mature behavior this world cup and amazing talent I'm starting to like Argentina again.

When you're really good, you shouldn't feel the need to flop. When I see my beloved Brazil do it it also makes me a bit sick because it's so unnecessary. Just play the game. When I want drama I'll go to the opera, thanks!

they can't win without cheating. maybe they should consider joining the italian diving team at the summer olympics, pretty sure they'd win every medal possible.
because most of them are play for juventus, ac milan, roma.. these all club are very dirty..

even the best team in italy now, don't have any player represent for italy national team now, because marcello lippi is an Inter hater

Italy is probably the least liked international side in the world. The only other side that probably meets as much criticism is the French. No one likes the Italians except for Italians. That's the way it has been and will always be.

Well, that and they often employ ridiculous diving to help them win. No one is saying they aren't talented - they obviously are. A team can't win on diving alone. But anyone who watches Italy play will easily see that they dive far more than most teams, on average.

No, it is the manner in which they play and the attitude that they have.

Italians dive like crazy and play like punks (i.e. US v Italy WC 2006). On top of that, you have constant scandals plaguing Serie A and the national team.

They also play one of the more unattractive styles in the world IMO. I think the 2006 Italy team was the worst team to ever win the Cup. When they won, it ruined that entire tournament for me.

The Spaniards and Portuguese don't dive as much.

Because their playing is painful to watch yet they manage to qualify. I can understand the hatred.
