This only continues to make soccer appear to Americans as a foreign sport. Are there no qualified American soccer commentators???

Blimey! Stanley steamers round the torchy benders with a sweet meg and diddles the clogger whilst the middies banter about with a cross to the 18 while the Colonel waits for a chance to bury one. What's not to understand?

Not a lot of them are. Not in international games anyway. There were more American commentators in the past tournaments, but they were neither insightful not substantial. You could also tell which teams they were rooting for just by the sound of their voices.

I'm so glad they have Derek Rae commentating. The guy is by far the best soccer announcer in the States.

I really like Ally McCoist's comments. They show real insight.

Insight is good, and I appreciate the professionalism and accuracy of the ESPN guys.

Still I HIGHLY DOUBT that the announcers for foreign national broadcasters worldwide are not being homers for their team.

Not the case for McCoist as Scotland are not in the tournament.

That is what happens when your coach has zero man-management skills and a penchant for becoming "tired and emotional".

I know. Something drastic needs to be done. I think my dh would be a fantastic coach. He does lots of it during the matches!
