One of the following scenarios will take place:

A| Uruguay makes its first semi-final in 40 years

B| South Korea makes its second semi-final ever

C| United States makes its first semi-final in 80 years

D| Ghana goes further than any African nation ever.

So any way you slice it, some sort of surprise team is going to come within one game of playing for all the marbles. I personally think the fact that the traditional football powerhouses won't occupy all the semi-final spots.

Now, on this I agree. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked to see an all-South American final.

It think it's a toss up. Any of those 4 teams have a chance to pull out. It's going to be fun to watch.

lol south korea and USA on the semi finals? with other teams like brasil, argentina, holland etc....?????

really don't think so,if uruguai goes to quarter final it's already very good, ghana passed the groupe stage with difficulty, not them selves but by others,us has great heart but finishing the plays has been a problem, and defensively they are weak to any time in that stage point, south korea is like USA

isn't his point that brazil, argentina, holland etc are unable to stop south korea or the US (or uruguay or ghana) from reaching the semi-final?

One of south korea, USA, Uruguay or Ghana is guaranteed a semi-final spot

I think the US will wind up facing Uruguay next week . . . and I think the US can pull out a win. Who they face after that is a whole other story.

While I whole-heartedly support the Yanks I will get behind whatever team from our bracket advances.
