I think that Ghana deserved to win. It is simply inexcusable for a world-class team to be giving up goals in the first 15 minutes. The US side has done that 8 of their last 22 games. 8!!!!!! I can understand if it was 1 goal in the entire 90 minutes of play at that ratio, but in the FIRST 15 MINUTES?

Look, I'm supportive of USA soccer and believe that over the long term this sport will become huge in the US, rivaling baseball, basketball, and football (american). But to say that the performance today was anything but amateurish would be ridiculous. That, and the Ghanian defense was superb today against a good offense.

US soccer has a way to go yet to breach the top 10 in the world. I don't agree with English, Brazilian, Italian, or German fans about the US soccer team is poor, rather, we're just not quite there yet. We have players in the European leagues and we can show that our players are valued highly over there (especially in UK clubs' goalies).

And even if we did beat Ghana, we would be utterly crushed by Uruguay.

Anyhow, to sum it up in my mind: US soccer has a bright future, we're on the rise, fans are popping up, and the interest in the sport is increasing, but for today's performance, we didn't deserve to win, and guts and come-from-behind performances can only work so far on the world class stage, meaning we gotta work on our defense.

Not really though. The Dutch are head and shoulders above the US as far as WC performances go. Its not really even close. When the US has players that do this kind of stuff , maybe we'll be a player. Until then its QF every 20 - 30 years and alot of luck just to make to the knockout stage.

Poor coaching cost us the game today, nothing more. Craptastic lineup to start the game and just like every other match, poor preparation.

The better team won today... Ghana deserved the win period. They won fair and square. We played horrible defense! Absolutely horrible defense! Our coach really sucked at the changes he made to the lineup, Clark should have NEVER started today... We lost period...

Neither should've Findlay, who didn't do anything at in in this World Cup. Bradley deserves a lot of scrutiny for his lineup decisions.

U.S team looked lacksidasical all game. Altidore and Clark needs to go! Ghana executed with their limited opportunities while the U.S couldn't capitalize on numerous opportunities. I think the U.S team was a better team, they just didn't look like they were in to it for some reason. Ghana doesn't seem like a team that has a game plan though. Their goals were on great individual plays. I can't see Ghana getting pass Uruguay.
