It has more to do with how big the rivalry is between Arsenal And Spurs than anything else. That said, Arsenal has had much, much, much more success than Tottenham.

I thought teams that didnt win got relegated

They do, but the teams we are talking about finished 3rd and 4th respectively this year. Relegation never comes up when talking about Arsenal and very, very, very rarely when talking about Tottenham.

How many games a season?

38 league matches. There are also Cup matches and European Tournaments on top of that.

How many teams are in the EPL?

20

And what does 1961 mean?

skipcromer, despite his allegiance to Spurs, covered your questions really well. Let me just add a couple things though: First off, it's only the bottom 3 teams that are relegated each year. As for Man U and the vuvuzela ban, here's a handy dandy guide, albeit a couple days old, of each EPL club's stand on those nasty instruments:

Has your club banned vuvuzelas? Find out with our guide to every Premier League club's stance - Mirror Football Blog - MirrorFootball.co.uk

1961? Let's just say, it's been a very, very long drought...with no end in sight.

Thanks for the info.

I think some of the ribbing going on kind of confused me, it was hard to tell what was being serious and what was boasting for a particular team.

On a side note, if I have direct tv how can I catch some games. I've said in earlier threads the world cup had me almost glued to watch soccer, regardless of teams. Then I watch MLS and while I still liked it there was not the level of play and I could tell immediately. I want to watch some real quality games and real rivalries.

I've got DirecTV too. ESPN (usually ESPN 2), FSC (619), and FSC+ (621) all carry EPL games regularly every weekend. I never have to miss an Arsenal match. The EPL gets underway starting Aug. 14th.

FSC+ is a premium channel, I think it's $14.99 a month, while FSC is part of the sports package.

No, they are in a lot of places.

If Americans liked soccer, they would have been use to the vuvuzelas because they are used frequently in central American and the Caribbean islands(Where USA play their qualifying, and Champions league, matches.)
