This has to be the most activity ever from a team that doesn't currently exist.

This organization has been around for some time now but activity has picked up int he last year and Garber has pretty much said that they will be team #20.

Cobi Jones left his position in LA to take a job with the organization.

too bad NY can't fill the stadium they've got. A second team in NY is a mistake.

the US most populous city with lots of immigrants and diversity and they can't come close to selling out.

go ahead MLS, put a second team there.

they should've just called them the Cosmos from the beginning. about the only positive is that more euro starts looking for a last payday will want to come to MLS b/c NYC is a favored destination. Or is that really a good thing?

MLS doesn't need to be seen as a retirement league.

They couldnt call the MetroStars the Cosmos because they didnt own the right to the name.

I have ridiculed NY in the past for their attendance but they did much better this season with the new stadium.

But, there are a lot of NY soccer fans that never got into the MetroStars and with them playing in NJ, there are a lot that downright refuse. This this team can get a place in NYC, they may become the main team in NY.

Not quite. Most hyped, though. Philly was send fans to Jersey to cheer against the Redbulls and for a Philly club that did not exist at the time.

Okay...that is an involved website.

Isn't the main problem a buncha americans who aren't going to look at MLS over their native leagues?

As long as MLS is seen as bush league compared to (insert country here) I don't think you'll turn around a lot of established soccer fans.

Frankly, I think each market should only have one and work up from there.
