In Europe the top leagues in most countries do not play if there are international games being played.

Should the MLS adopt this?

yeah i think they should, or i was thinking if a team has more than 10% of their team out for international duty, then that game should be postponed, but if both teams have 90% of their team available to play the game should go ahead

No--the MLS needs all the help it can get, so it should play its games whenever they have a chance. If the fans want to come out and see their local MLS team then they should; they can simply tape the International Friendly games and watch them later.
I watched the Sounders-Dynamo game last night, and watched a tape of USA-Argentina tonight.
What's the big deal here?
The MLS doesn't need any controversies or disgruntled fans. They need to play as often and as well as they can.

The point being that the National side is supposed to showcase the best the nations league has to offer, hence the clubs dont play the day the International teams play.

No it's not so they can watch both game it is because some teams have key players missing. In England our top two leagues do not play when we have internationals because so many players are missing.

Anyone with half a brain knows it's a yes. Unlike any other sports fans, soccer fans actually CARE about international bouts and whats more, since depth is so bad all around it's a waste to try and put on a half hearted league match anyways.

It's not about the fans being able to see the games. It is about missing players.

The MLS cannot take those weekends off due to schedule congestion. There just isnt the time to do it.

Schedule congestion? They could just play for another week or two. Rangers in Scotland had to play something like 5 games in two weeks.
