haha yeah vaguely remember that, rangers had a top side back then to albertz, amouroso, van bronkhorst etc. great game of football and atmosphere though

Yes it was. Basically we were noobs to the professional world. 2 years earlier and Rangers would have won that 13 - 0 on aggregate. If it wasnt for McCarthy hoofing and handleing the ball so much we may have won that. Had to play it in Prenton Park because Celtic were playing Bohemians the next day and they didnt want two sets of dip**** fans in Dublin at the same time.

Needless to say the Rangers fans came down to batter us before the game but couldnt get to us. Some bright spark at the Police thought that putting the Rangers hoolies in with the "family area" Rangers fans would calm them down :S They ended up thrashing their end.

Still have my program autographed for that. Its big games like that that make it much more special to support smaller teams than it does being a Man U fan.

no lol was in the pub watching it, but did you watch it? you can feel and hear the atmosphere even on the tv

Of course. Got up at 4.15am and watched it on Rangers TV. Would have preferred being there but not possible.

well done to my old school friend ross chisholm on winning the scottish 3rd division title with dundee-shires own arbroath fc against their fierce local rivals montrose! good old game of football it was, just as exciting as some of the top flight games!
