Correct. It opened four years prior to HDC opening.

Yep i googled it and you're right:" The Home Depot Center was the second stadium designed specifically for soccer in the MLS era."

But it's still the best and there's no debating that!

Actually, there is. Red Bull Arena and LIVESTRONG Sporting Park have taken SSS's to the next level and no other stadiums in MLS compare to those two at this point.

It is time for Soccer Specific Stadiums 2.0 where things are taken up a level. While HDC is great and probably the best of the 1.0 stadiums, it is not near the best anymore.

Red Bull Arena is the best but as its not full at all I would have to say the best is Livestrong Park. I wonder if the sounders build a SSS in the nest 15 or so years?

I don't necessarily like the 'brand spanking new' stadiums, I personally like Sounders stadium, and I love the San Siro and Nou Camp and they are really old but create brilliant atmospheres.

Done Deal Hargreaves joined City. My prediction still stands...OH game one = hamstring. Good for him though.

Owen Hargreaves joins Man City on one-year deal - ESPN Soccernet
