Lets see, when healthy, Arsenal should have a back four that consists of Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen and Santos....things are looking up. The same direction the Gunners will be traveling in the table soon enough..

Mertesacker will be shown up in the EPL, he is a dodgy player and very slow not a good signing IMO, Santos looks a class LB though.

He could be the second coming of Senderos...yeah, I've thought about that.

Mertesacker is 6' 6" though, he brings a physicality and an aerial presence that Arsenal currently lack. Should be a big help on set pieces in particularly..
