LOL...about five seconds after the game ended I had baseball on.

Anyways, they deserved to lose. When you don't finish your chances and fall asleep after scoring you aren't champion material.

i think the point is obviously to win, but you cant accuse the us players of not given their all, nobody has a divine right to win anything, it just was not the states day, they tried though, so yeah they should have done you proud, and people like you (who i have never seen post on the soccer forum) say 'WIN IT next time' lol its as easy as that is it

You are certainly very ignorant of how hard it takes for the athletes to get to this point, in this particular competition. Only someone who is grossly inexperienced in sports could make such a statement about 'hopping on a plane', as if that's all they did to get to the final. My guess is that you prefer to make cheap shots from the sidelines; envious of those who actually can play the game. I am proud to be an American, you seem like you are not. You are obviously an America-hater, trying to downgrade our great women's soccer team and their abilities.

I can assure that it's hardly just a matter of 'showing up'. Please learn a little more about the sport and the conditioning that is required prior to spouting off on a topic for which you are obviously very ill-informed.

Yuk. Imo, it's so strange when people try to degrade sports because of their own weird gender insecurities or obsessions. It's as if some people can't help but make everything into some weird tabloidy thing even when it's not warranted; I guess it's how some people make themselves feel better by trying to cut other people down. Really quite pathetic, since you do this on the internet where you have anonymity. Those Japanese players, whatever their appearance, display a lot more guts than you do.

Who really cares what these athletes look like?

True sports fans care about the competition, doesn't matter whether it's male or female playing.

I for one think the Japanese played with a lot of pluckiness; they kept hanging in there even when it looked for sure that the US had the game in the bag. Kudos to them.

On the other hand, even though I am disappointed with the outcome, I am hopeful that the US will return in 4 years and make a competitive run (especially with up-and-coming youngsters like Alex Morgan on the roster). And...there's the Olympics not too long in the future.

Haha. Hardly. A lot of so-called mankind just tuned back into the Copa America to see some more soccer.

Soccer obviously ain't your thing...so why bother to comment on it?

Very disappointed by the US loss! I have not seen a PK meltdown like that in a long time... Not to make excuses but Rapinoe should not have been subbed out for Tobin Heath... Didn't make sense unless she was hurt. Also, Amy Rodriquez should have played today, her speed would have given Japan all kinds of trouble. Oh well... next time US ladies!

With that said, congratulations to Japan, they did an outstanding job this whole tournament, never gave up and always kept fighting back. Even as an American fan... can't help but feel good for the underdog!

Get rid of offsides, players who flop themselves and make the field dimensions smaller, then even more people would watch.

The rest of man kind being the small amount that actually watch baseball anymore ? Avg attendance for many MLS is higher than many MLB teams.

I presume mankind to you is your own back yard, everybody knows soccer is the most watched sport in the world.

Lol and add to the fact that baseball is a boring sport itself.
