Lol Atletico Madrid aren't gonna sell him 1 season after buying him without making a huge profit.

Well I suppose they will have to because knowone is going to pay 70million for him. I dont think he will be sold at all though and if he stays another season then he wont be sold for anything close to 70million because he will be hitting the age of 28.

In fairness though, I think Carroll has performed marginally better the last few games than all season. Granted hes not knocked in lots of goals all season but the last few games have been more encouraging than all season. Maybe hell settle in, least we got him for cheaper than Chelsea did Torres
Regardless of how much each player cost, Torres is better than Carrol and has performed better for Chelsea than Carrol has for Liverpool. My friends who support Liverpool refer to Carrol as a poor man's Torres.

Torres dipped in form before we sold him, we could have got an extra 20 million if he was still performing. It was a good idea to sell Torres, bad idea to buy Carroll for that price.

In the league Carroll scored 6 goals in 41 games, Torres 7 in 44. I think that pretty much sums up both strikers as a failure, doesnt matter what your friends refer to Carroll as. A rich mans Torres would be Emile Heskey at this stage lol

Yeah but assists and European goals would favour Torres.

Torres has produced a ton of goals during his time with Chelsea. He may not be the striker he was a few years ago, but he sure knows how to distribute the ball around. He is also an unselfish player. And example of both would be the first leg of the quarter finals of the Champions League in Lisbon against Benfica. He makes a nice run towards the goal and easily could have take the shot himself (something Danny Sturridge would have done without hesitation) but he makes a nice move into the box and draws the defender and keeper and then has a nice cross to Kalou for the crucial away goal.

I think once Fernando plays on the regular (I think Sturridge should be dealt away) and he plays up front with Drogba, he should see his goal total increase.

But Torres scored at the Camp Nou against Barcelona in a Champions League semi final to put Chelsea into the final, swings and roundabouts! Lol

He might of scored the last goal but they were going through anyway. Carroll got Liverpool to the FA Cup final and then came on in the FA Cup and changed the game. He was ublucky not to of been given the equaliser. At the end of the day they both have not lived up to their price tags and they may never do. Torres will have to win the CL for Chelsea on his own for his transfer to of been a success and Carroll will have to win the league for Liverpool single handedly for his price to of been worth it but thats not going to happen so 20+ goals a season for the next 5 years will be alright.
