Yikes. Really, though...Rangers lost to a Slovenian club that I've never heard of until I just read the scores. Was there really any hope for Hearts? Would have been great for the to be David, tough, if only for one night.

Hearts 0 Spurs 5. Spurs overwhelm Hearts, to be honest it showcased the gulf between the EPL & the SPL.

yep it did, ran Hearts ragged. There a quality side, with world class players, simply a superior side to Heart of Midlothian

So, what was the surprise? Losing 0-5 at home?

Tottenham were very impressive. One of the five goals came after defending a corner kick. Three or four touches to get the ball downfield and then into the Hearts goal. As the commentator said, "Hearts are broken."

Shamrock Rovers knocked out Partizan Belgrade 3-2 on agg. First time an Irish team has ever reached that point of a Euro competition. Great result!

I know Brian, what a great result against a good side to, pity the Scottish jokes of clubs couldn't take a note out of Shamrock Rovers book, ashamed of my countries league to say the least!

Well done Rovers though, brilliant result, they will be my team in the Europa league this year that's for sure.

What a game in the Europa League tonight, Fulham going out with a last minute goal from Odense of Denmark, finished 2-2. The competition has got some quality sides in it now Man United, Man City, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Ajax, Udinese, Celtic, Porto, Twente, Rubin Kazan etc, looking forward to the knockout rounds.

It's quite incredible, when you come to think of it, to see mighty Manchester United in the Europa League . But in a way it's maybe a good thing, as now they have a possibility to add a cup of a league they won't often compete in.

I watched Anderlecht yesterday, they won 5-3 to Lokomotiv Moscow, having the maximum of points in their group. Good for our coefficient .
