As a United fan i want them to treat it like the Champion's League. Go all out. There is no reason it should affect our trying to win the League as we are used to competing for the league and Champion's League glory. It's time for some silverware and time for the big money players to put some work in.

I doubt they'll give it a go at UEFA cup. Most due to the fact that games are being played on Thursday night only 48 hour before their EPL games.
That and the fact there are so many injuries already makes me think that SAF will threat this competition as a Carling Cup.
Plus, there are not a lot of financial interest in this tournament.
Porto v Manchester City. Ajax v Manchester United, Lokomotiv Moscow v Athletic Bilbao, Salzburg v Metalist, Stoke v Valencia, Rubin Kazan v Olympiakos, AZ Alkmaar v Anderlecht, Lazio v Atletico Madrid, Steaua Bucharest v FC Twente, Viktoria Plzen v Schalke, Wisla Krakow v Standard Liege, Braga v Besiktas, Udinese v PAOK, Trabzonspor v PSV Eindhoven, Hannover v Club Brugge, Legia Warsaw v Sporting Lisbon.
Wisla Krakow, AZ and Hannover are hardy easy opponents, easier than Porto and Valencia yes but not easy! Ruban Kazan v Olympiakos and Lazio v Atletico Madrid also look like tasty ties!
Rubin Zazan will beat Olympiakos I think and Hannover will beat Brugge. I also think Stoke might go through against Valencia, but that will be a great 2 games!

True, but none the less I think our teams stand a fair chance to win. It'd be a good thing for our UEFA-coefficient (Belgium is already at 9,500 points this season - which is a very decent achievement so far). Bruges, like you said, will probably have a tough time winning Hannover 96, a typical German team that never gives up.
