Athletic outplayed United all night, United are lucky they are only 1 goal behind.

Good set of games tomorrow, hopefully Sporting can hold off Man City. They are in good form lately and Man City haven't been doing to well.

Also going to keep updated on the Utd & Bilbao game while at work, gonna be a good one.

I don't think Utd are interested in this competition. The players will try not to get injured...there is tricky away game at Wolves on Sunday.
I would rather see them win on Sunday and put pressure on Citeh before their Chelsea game next week.

C'mon now Pete you've changed your tune! Wouldn't have anything to do with the 1st leg would it? Wolves should be 3 points in the bag if United focus and play half decent, Wolves have been dire most of the season.

No Paul, I am keep saying that Europa League is not where Man Utd wants to be , not now though. Look at my previous posts on this.
I take nothing away from Bilbao victory last week and I am pretty sure they will win again tonight, but what is the point of Man Utd playing in Europa League (from man utds managament point of view) ? What will be the driving force to win it? Relatively small amount of $ available, Thursday nights football, second string Euro competition. They may try to get some result playing with 50% capability and if that works ok, but I don't think so.
And Wolves are crap, but they were too last year and still managed to beat Utd 1:0 at Molineux, remember?

Standard Euro away 4-5-1 formation.
If they only perform....still doubtful though.

However, good thing is that Cleverly is back in the starting line up, but no place for Berbatov, not even on the bench...I was sure he is going to start this game. Something must have gone terribly wrong between him and SAF to be treated this way.
Personaly, I would have played him instead of Rooney, Smalling instead of Rio, Pogba instead of Giggs...
I think we need Rooney, Rio and Giggs fresh for Wolves, but who knows what is in SAF plans for that game.

Down 1-0 at half; looks pretty bleak.

If we dont get a goal within 15 min i say we pull the plug; out Rooney, out Cleverly put in Pogba and Welbeck.

Bilbao are attacking the ball; never give up and United has trouble keeping the ball...meanwhile Bilbao pass the ball around quite effectively and are given more time on the ball.

Ok we're lucky not to be down 2-0..pull the plug.

Pogba, Wellbeck, Berba... should've start this game.
I am not watching it but reading the commentary only is telling Manu are not interested....

What do you think of Manu performance infinitekid?
Are Bilbao really that strong or reds simply didn't play their stuff?
