The coverage has just been clicked over to the Fox Soccer Channel. Speaking of coverage I thought Curt Menafee and his crew done a great job on the TV coverage. I've been a fan of his work for some time.

Congratulations to Chelsea!

Chelsea looked horrible through most of the match and they're lucky they didn't get routed. Very bitter end to the Champions League.
While Bayern may have had more shots on goal & more possession, Chelsea defended resolutely and looked far more dangerous on the break. They sat back and allowed Bayern to wear themselves out. This proved decisive when it came to penalties. One side looked deflated, defeated and worn, the other side took those penalties like winners (and won).

You're also discounting the fact that it was a home game for Bayern. In football (soccer), the home team usually dominates possession and has more chances, unless it's a really crap team playing a really good team.

Fantastic final.

Schweinsteiger should be ashamed of himself.

Disappointed with the result but it was a fun game. The final 10 minutes of regulation created quality entertainment.

What a match! Bayern thought they had it before Chelsea, on their first corner, bang it home from Drogba. The Petr, who guessed right on every PK, the first three he was not strong enough, makes the big saves when he needed to.

Chelsea, the champions of Europe. Wow!!!!!!!!!

Well, apparently I'm the only one here who really didn't enjoy this match. I just don't like Chelsea: a billionaire's team that has the money to buy all the players it wants but still plays lousy, godforsaken catenaccio all the time . For me, football is two teams striving to score goals, not one team parking the bus and hoping to steal a goal. Anyway, I was bored .

Blah, and the lucky team wins again. Bayern only have themselves to blame, though. They had many chances to score and they blew them all. Not quite 1999, but still a massive disappointment for Bayern.

Why? Gomes and Robben were awful last night.
