Chelsea were decent wouldn't say brilliant, Torres wa good with two great assists and young Mata was the best player on the park. Bayer were good also they had a few good chances but never put them away.

City weren't at their best, nor were United. Lille let 2 goals in in the last 5 minutes after being 2-1 up.

City were very impressive in the 1st half, they never put the chances away and Napoli came back into it 2nd half and it was City's 1st Champions League match so I think there will be more to come from them. Man United made 8 changes and still got a good result away from home against a good Benfica side.

Not that i'm challenging Fergie but i wonder why he didn't start Berba. I know he's trying to keep the main players fresh for Chelski, but Berba isn't going to start against Chelski.

Anyways it was a decent result.

Because Berbatov is not as good as Rooney, Hernandez and the other strikers. He slows the play down a lot and does not run off the ball unlike the others do.

Yep i know Berbatov is not up to the Rooney/Hernandez standard but if they are using a second tier line up..save a couple players like Rooney, may as well throw Berba on..he's class too. I guess i wanted to see an out and out striker with Rooney and i know they wanted to rest Hernandez.

I think Berbatov has better first touch than either Rooney or Hernandez. He's also better in the air.
What he does'nt have is real pace.

Better 1st touch or better in the air than Rooney! lol Rooney's 1st touch is among the best in the world! Yeah Berbatov's is good but not as good as Rooney's.
