I watched Napoli - Manchester City last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. What an intense game and what a fabulous atmosphere in the stadium! Napoli played as if this was a cup final. Man City, well: I've seen them playing two times now and both times they were downright disappointing. Mancini saying they're closing in on Barça and Real level: yeah right.

Well I have seen 90% of the games Man City have played this season and they play tremendous football most of the time but you are right last night they were disappointing.

Gunners are through..top of the group.

Meanwhile Chelsea is in trouble. Man, I'd love to see both them and City fail to qualify for the knockout stage..

Also watched that game yesterday: the first 65 minutes reminded me of the reason why I love the game so much: fast-paced, great goals, going back and forth all the time. I think in the last half hour, both teams got tired though, as the pace slowed considerably. Anyway, a great game between two great teams!

Our Belgian pride, RC Genk, also performed very well against Valencia: 7 - 0, the second biggest defeat ever in the Champions League (right behind Liverpool - Besiktas 8 - 0) . How valiantly they defended the Belgian honor . Pathetic bunch of losers.

CL Season 2005-06 same happened. Remember when they were in the same group as Lille, Villareal and Benfica (again).
ManUtd were thinking they will easily win the group and they finished 4th, yes 4th.
Utd were drawing games, all games were basically dull draws that were ending 1:1 or 0:0. In the last game they headed to Benfica seeking a win to get through the group and ended up losing that game 2:1. The draw was enough for them end up 3rd and play Europa League, but.....
It is fairly easier group this and I cant see them dropping points against Otelul Galati, that and victory at home vs Benfica will guarantee one of the 2 top places in the group, but still in Europe they cant produce their dominant game as it is the case in England.
As long as I admire SAF, sometimes in European games he should've done better, way better.

Only 2 CL titles in the last 15 years when they really dominate the European football is not enough.
Well, well, well....whatever I said few months ago just happened. Man U simply not good enough in the champions league whenever they have the easiest group. This was bound to happen since that draw. Like I was watching that 2005 CL season all over again, at least this time they made it to Europa League. Ferguson needs to clear his team of deadwood ASAP.

Shame to see Man City out, love the football they are playing. But, a EPL title and a Europa league title could turn out to be a great season a cups a cup and they are still developing as a force, I think they will do a lot better next season, Man United looked poor this champions league new signings needed badly IMO.
