Groups of supporters of Ice Hockey, Basketball etc in places like Russia, Greece and Serbia have 'hooligans' who do this sort of thing, so the ''only in soccer'' comment, if it wasn't a dig at football, is at least false!

Nobody is crying here, you jumped to the wrong conclusion. The sport itself does not have dedicated Firms or Hooligans, some clubs do but most dont. What I have seen here is groups refered(sp) to as Firms and are no more than TIFO groups.

Not every club has supporters fenced off, sepearate areas isnt a bad idea anyway for the amount of emotions that fly around a football stadium.
1. That's quite a long list of English Firms.....

List of hooligan firms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2. There are negative threads started all the time in other sports forums. Just look at the beating of the fan in the parking lot after the dodgers game or the steroid issue and so on and so forth. Hooligans are without a doubt the big problem with "football" and so it's not surprising to have it mentioned under the sports topic.
