Irish football has 3 major problems that are pretty unique to Ireland. 1) FAI are as corrupt as hell and dont put cash into Irish Football. 2) The false sense of national pride many people have in Ireland that involves their love of English football, which we all know can be seen on these boards too unfortunately. 3) Celtic. Theyre Irish ? Apparently so anyway which makes me sick, theyre Scottish. Id gladly give Scotland Glasgow back if yous can hook us up with Belfast.

That been said I still have a soft spot for Killie and do like to watch Scottish football but id rather anything but a Glasgow derby.
(4) soccer in ireland has to compete with the 500 pound gorrilla of GAA , outside the citys , most handy ball players end up playing either hurling or gaelic football , ireland cannot be compared to scotland , denmark or any other country with five million people , soccer is only the third most popular sport and its a distant third in terms of participation

No they ar not. They would struggle in the PL. There is a difference between playing Scottish football and PL football. If you are the top team in Scotland well then that would probaly be a top 10 team in the PL.

Why are you slating the sports of your country. Are you not proud to be Irish or something?

They are Irish sports, but they are crap sports. Liking a sport has nothing to do with being proud to be Irish. Dont even drag me down that road ....

I only asked a question. All I am saying is that you should not slate the sports because you dont like them. Just out of interest why dont you like them? I think they are great. The best thing about them is that families cab sit together and fans from both teams can sit together and there is known of this fighting that you see in other sports.

No I didn't. I asked a question. What I said was "Are you not proud to be Irish or something?" Where did I suggest you were not proud of being Irish there.
