Yeah, you can make a good argument Suarez demonstrated poor sportsmanship. Yet, he didn't have time to think about it..putting his hands up was just a reaction.

The real crime was Gyan failing to make him pay for it..

I played defender my whole life and I have watched dozens of balls fly past me. If you cannot get your foot, head, or chest on it, it's a goal. If you cannot stop it legally using your skills then you deserve to be scored on.

Anyone that thinks that is okay is a horrible human being. It's deceitful, cheap, and if you think that is okay you lack integrity and character. You would probably steal from your own mother.

Do you not watch soccer? You realize that professional players are put into this position like all the time and hardly any of them do this? You do realize that defenders are put into this position on a regular basis and this doesnt happen?

No, that's not true. Rarely are defenders in that situation. If you're comparing any defender using his hands at any time in any part of the penalty area then that is not a good comparison. Defenders rarely use their hands because most of the time there is a goalie behind them or the ball is low or the ball isn't on a direct line to the goal.

The defender in the video did the right thing and has nothing to be ashamed about.

Now, should he have done it if his team was up 7-0 with one minute to play?

It is the same thing as a basketball team fouling to extend them game hoping the shooter misses free throws. "You play to win the game" if that means taking a chance that he misses a penalty shot then so be it.

Defenders cover the post pretty much any time there is a corner kick and other set pieces outside of the box within range which means they get put into that situaton regularly where they might have to clear the ball off the line.

You have no integrity, are dishonest and an overall horrible human being if you think that is okay.

I assume you think it is okay for a player to dive because it is the same thing.

I cannot stand cheating in any way shape or form and it is currently ruining sports and expecially the sport we all love. For someone who is a fan of a sport to say this kind of behavior is okay pisses me off to no end. People like that will be way the sport continues to get more and more corrupt.
