Wales manager Gary Speed was found dead this morning at his home in Cheshire he was doing a great job at Wales with them winning 4 out of their last 5 games, it appears he hung himself. He was a great player who won the league with leeds alongside 2 of my favourite players Gary McAlaister and Gordon Strachen (brilliant midfield they 3 were!) He was 42, so sad RIP Gary.

Terrible news, would really like to know why he did it. He seemingly had everything a man could ask for (fame, respect, good job, hot wife, Gareth Bale). Maybe it was the drink?

No idea it just goes to show it doesn't matter how rich you are etc if you have demons you have demons, I seen him on football focus yesterday which was live and he seemed bubbly and happy. Maybe he got some bad news or something happened I don't know but it's a tragedy either way.

I saw him on Football Focus yesterday as well - I watched the Swansea game earlier today and they talked a lot about Gary Speed but made no reference to how he died, which I did think was very suspicious before I read the truth - I still can't believe somebody with so much to live for with no (known to me) problems would do such a thing. It's not that long since that German referee tried to kill himself, same for the goalkeeper who did it a couple of years ago - very sad.

I was shocked when I saw this. I didnt know about it till I watched the Pool vs City game that I DVR'd.

Sad news, he was a great player and was doing very well with Wales. Always sad to see people resort to doing something like this.

One thing about the job is that many do not realize how stressful working in sports truly is. Of course, it could have been marital trouble or something else entirely that set him off, or perhaps it was simply something he kept hidden for years. Also, oftentimes people who are depressed appear happy on the outside.

No matter why it happened, it is sad news.
