Bale for 2012/2013. Otherwise that is a good list. Good to see 8 Scottish players, but you missed the best ever, Jimmy Johnsone star of the European cup winning Celtic side who Di Stefano described as amazing!

The Austro Hungarian Empire collapsed like a flan, splintering into many parts, some based on nationalities (Austria, Hungary, much of Poland, czechoslovakia to an extent) others due to arbitary limits decided by the 'Great' powers (Yugoslavia anyone) after WW1.

The region also suffered from severe ecopnomic stagnation and even recession for much of the 20s, as well as lots of smaller countries never going to be as succesful in a sporting term as one large one (in terms of population) And then after WW2 the region suffered even more from being a major battle ground, then becoming part of the USSR sphere of influence, or in Yuogslavias case the Third Way, and then the eventual civil wars, genocide etc

But if you think of that region now, and were to create a team from there, it would be pretty impressive
