So this idea was taken from another thread.

I'm curious to know who people think would be considered English Premiership all time great players.

Simple rules for nominations, nominate someone and explain why, all performance related comments must come from PL games only.

I'll start :

Peter Schmeichel GK

There have been other great goalkeepers who have graced English football pitches that spring to mind, Grobbelar, Jennings, Clemence, Corrigan etc. But none of these played in the Premiership.

Peter came to Old Trafford the season before the inaugural Premiership season and helped United with 5 Premiership trophies during his 7 years playing for United in the Premiership. He also holds the record for highest percentage of clean sheets to games played in the PL at 42%.

I'll continue...

Eric "The King" Cantona

Cantona is often regarded as having played a key role in the revival of Manchester United as a footballing force and won 4 titles in five years.

Legend!

Matt LeTissiser

Fantastic foot work. Great player and beyond the skills of Southampton but he stayed loyal when bigger offers came.

I'll offer two London-based Italians: Paolo DiCanio (WHam) and Gianfranco Zola (Chel). Both were as popular off the pitch as they were productive on it. Not easily done for foreigners in England.
